Gender

Gendered spaces are areas that a particular gender of people and types of gender expression are considered welcome or appropriate, and other types are not welcome or appropriate. For example, a public bathroom is typically split between ladies and gentlemen, most recently there have been non-binary bathrooms which are specifically created to not have a certain gender in mind as this group of people do not relate or relate to many genders.

Some spaces are made for a certain gender in mind whether it is an unspoken rule or not. Through time this changes fro example a century ago women's job was to look after the home and children while the husband went to work. meaning that when you look at past pictures of kitchens, they were more feminine whether it was loud floral wallpaper or more subtly with ditsy floral crockery on the table. With dark mahogany study with are seemed to be more masculine at the time, since then interior design and gender has changed quite drastically compared to the stereotypical men/women rooms.
